Help children in need get off to a great start with new school supplies! The DC Ranch school supply donation drive begins July 3 and will wrap up at the annual Back to School Bash on Aug. 4. The donations will benefit the City of Scottsdaleās Back to School program which assists students attending Title I schools in Scottsdale. Title 1 is a program that provides funds to identified schools serving low-income students. There are 10 Title 1 schools in Scottsdale.
Last year, residents exceeded the school supply goal with 552 donations. This year, over 6,000 students from low-income households within the Scottsdale Unified School District are in need of school supplies for the incoming year. A donation of school supplies has a profound impact on students and their learning experience.
Donations can be dropped off at Desert Camp, The Homestead or The Ranch Offices at Market Street. Residents may also donate school supplies at the annual Back to School Bash on Aug. 4, from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
