New for 2019, DC Ranch introduces the Lifelong Learning Series as a collection of classes to enrich the lives of residents. Join us as we profile different topics and pursue a passion for knowledge.

Join presenter Mike Nolan as he uncovers the massive forces that formed the Preserve and how the land we see today changed over time.  The rocks that make up the landscape of the Sonoran Desert reveal an amazing story about the world in which they were formed, their subsequent history, the impact of regional geology and the geological landscape of the desert that is right out your front door.

About the presenter:
Mike Nolan was the Executive Director of the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy for 6 and a half years and has worked with several conservation groups in the area of fundraising, communication and public relations. He has a degree in Geology from the University of Rochester and began his career as a geologist in the oil industry. For more than two decades he has given presentations and led field trips on a variety of geologic topics. He enjoys helping audiences understand the stories hidden in the rocks beneath their feet and the landscapes that surround them.
