McDowell Sonoran Preserve

Since its founding in 1990, McDowell Sonoran Conservancy -- a grass-roots, volunteer-driven, nonprofit, advocacy and education organization-—has championed the need for, establishment of, and safe public access to the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, the Scottsdale area’s oldest treasure. At completion, the McDowell Sonoran Preserve will be the largest urban land preserve in the United States. 

MSC works side-by-side with the City of Scottsdale to ensure completion, management and public appreciation of the Preserve; continuously educates residents and visitors about the Preserve’s environmental and archaeological significance; ensures the public appropriately access what they have repeatedly voted to protect; and facilitates continuity of the preserve vision in the ever-changing political environment.
