Child, Youth & Teen Activities
The following is a list of regularly-occuring activities for children, youths and teens at DC Ranch. See the community Calendar for dates, times and locations of upcoming programs.
Kindermusik
Nurture your young child's developing mind and body and help your child develop a life-long love for music. Participants sing, dance, and read, listen to and make music. Each session is 45 minutes.
Mondays with Mommy
A morning gathering at The Homestead with activities, music and games. Children make friends and mommies (or daddies or care givers) meet neighbors. Infants and children up to 5 years old are welcome.
Storytime at DC Ranch
Ignite your child’s imagination and inspire a lifelong love of reading. Join your neighbors every Thursday morning. Your child will visit new places and meet new characters within the colorful pages of children’s books read aloud by Community Council staff or special guests. Each storytime features a theme and related activities. Recommended for children ages birth to 5 years; all children welcome.
TGIF Fun Nights for Kids
Little Wranglers: Children in the community ages 4-7 can meet new friends and build relationships with neighbors in their own age group in a fun and safe atmosphere.
Tween Nights: A safe and entertaining outlet for children in the community ages 8-12. Participants enjoy themed activities, contests, and games. Dinner included.
Teen Escape: All teens in the community ages 13 and older meet at the Desert Camp Community Center to board a party bus that transports them to a local destination for fun entertainment.
Summer Sizzle
Stay cool by the Desert Camp Pool in June and July while enjoying new pool toys and games. Bring your towels, swim suits and snacks.
Dive-In Movies
Wipe out high temperatures in July and August in the Desert Camp pool while enjoying a free movie on a full-sized outdoor screen. Wear swim suits and bring picnics, blankets, towels and summer spirit. Cool treats and movie munchies provided.
Workshops for Youth and Families
The DC Ranch Community Council is a proud sponsor of Workshops for Youth & Families, a Scottsdale-based organization whose mission is to foster personal leadership and resiliency through programs that inspire positive growth and change. Led by co-founder and Program Director Frances Mills-Yerger, Ph.D., programs offers a hands-on, personal approach to learning life skills.
